I don't know if Minato can even properly force the Third to hit himself, given that Naruto couldn't with sheer speed and had to resort to Sage Mode. No sh!t, Naruto couldn't figure it out without the intel, the same goes for Minato. Minato rarely worked with Sage Mode.
