It was simply perfect for us....We were in Sarlat for a week so had the opportunity to eat at several restaurants.

Ribs were excellent...Le Bistrot was recommended by our hosts and we were not dissapointed. We liked all about this place -- from hearty local food and friendly service to reasonable prices and outdoor seating (across from the Cathedral). A great Veg burger, the filet steak with Goats cheese sauce was delicious. Friendly service and at reasonable cost. Both my trout and my wife’s lamb...A pleasant evening with typical local fare in pleasantly typical local surroundings.

I would not recommend the other restaurants.I wish we’d discovered this restaurant earlier in our stay.

One of our favourite places. Le Bistrot, restaurant proposant une cuisine du terroir et de bistrot à Sarlat-La-Canéda en Dordogne (24). Really enjoyed our salad and burger and the service made the evening perfect: they were patient with our attempts to order in French and made excellent suggestions.When we arrived (15 minutes late) I expected to be met with hostility due to how busy this place was, I couldn’t have been more wrong. Having a vegetarian daughter and grand parents who are a little careful of the choices this restaurant suited all of us.

Great food, great location!We stayed in Sarlat for 2 nights and had dinner at Le Bistrot both nights. We were seated quickly on a busy July evening.

Its not the cheapest in Sarlat but the food was stunning. Le Bistrot is the best choice of the restaurants located across from the Cathedral.

I picked the Bistrot menu @ €34.50 which allowed me to pick any Starter/Main/Dessert on the...Decided to eat late and staff were welcoming and ensured we got a table outside. Unfortunately on our second visit we were 15minutes late for our booked time and the table had been given away.

In addition to the standard 3 duck dishes that every local restaurant seems to have, to use up all the ducks without livers, it has other good choices.
