Yes, you will see live arachnids and other animals, but I would say about 90% of the insects were dead; beautifully displayed though (the entomologists did a great job!). Online ticket purchase is strongly recommended for the Jardin botanique. There were a lot of informational exhibits, but I really wish that there were more live insects for me to visualize what I was learning. The Jardin botanique and the Planétarium Rio Tinto Alcan welcome visitors again.

I would definitely recommend this place to everyone, especially because it is part of the garden admission.

There is 2 floors to the exhibition- with multiple sections including the dead vs live bugs, tropical vs forest. If anyone with kids in Montreal hasn't been here they need to go.One of the coolest places I have ever been to. Thankfully my friends and I were savvy and got into the garden for free on a Free Day, thus our admission to this insectarium was also free. Of course a kid may not understand this concept (heck, some adults may not either), but they can just enjoy watching the ants in their various roles.
