By Hotel Class. The tart seemed to have been in the microwave way too...Beautiful setting (outdoors, on a not too hot evening). Everyone was so attentive and the food was excellent...The Black Bass made it the Perfect Day!Situated on the Delaware River this beautiful old B&B in Lumberville is the perfect get away for enjoying all nature, good food and local culture has to offer. All charming locals about an hour outside of Philadelphia by car. We look forward to seeing you again.I had been a frequent customer of both the Black Bass Hotel and Restaurant. Can you imagine they gave me a check for my drink??! We stayed in the Raven Rock Suite which has a wonderful old bed that we were told was a double bed salvaged from the originalHaving lived in the area for 15 years, we have grown to love the Black bass and spend most every special occasion there. Our family will definitely return. My wife and I booked the Fieldstone Suite, which is a duplex with a small living room (facing the road) and bathroom on the first floor, with a steep staircase leading to a nicely proportioned bedroom and half bath overlooking the river.

The floors are beautiful old pine wood but the bathrooms are completely modern. We stayed in the Suite Lorraine.

Hostess on a Sunday evening should have ability to multi task and greet without loud rejections, snippy bathroom directions and rude...Could not get in, drove 1 1/2 hours to get there, only to learn that reservations only.

The food was fantastic; as it had been before the lockdown. They were so accommodating from the minute we got there until we left. Clearly for people more important than us. We chose the Baxter Suite because it was a private separate cottage across the road from the main hotel.

Bar is local and tourist crowd, as is the dining room....however, Doylestown and Buckingham are upper middle class and above areas, so "casual" as others say, is not a tee shirt and shorts.
