You do need at least a whole day (2 nights) to see Monument Valley. I would also suggest spending the extra money and getting the premium star view.We stayed at the View for two nights. This is important - spend the extra $10.

The View Hotel: Valley Rim Cabin - See 6,983 traveler reviews, 5,918 candid photos, and great deals for The View Hotel at Tripadvisor. Then we drove up to the hotel. Restaurant staff we found to be excellent, very friendly & attentive to our requirements -- in fact first class service. there is not an overhang and your are a ways from the lobby and light. Each cabin features a private porch that overlooks the valley and is decorated in an old west decor. We were on the 3rd (top) floor. It would have been worth the price for this alone. […] Once we got there, we realized, that THE MONUMENT VALLEY was passed the View Hotel. The room was big, clean and comfy.

We had the opportunities to experience the amazing sunrise and sunset. As other reviewers have already stated, the View from this hotel complex is absolutely stunning. It comfortably accommodated us.

The hotel restaurant was very good and we thought was reasonably priced for the area. We had a premium star view room. I've attached a couple photos. Many have said the view from the cabins is actually better than the view from the hotel rooms. Many have said the view from the cabins is actually better than the view from the hotel rooms. The hotel is very expensive (we only stayed the one night), the food is atrocious and shouldn't even be considered edible (but it's all that's there - bring your own if you do stay) and there were blood stains on one of the beds. It is situated on the rim overlooking this awesome valley.

We used it to store our suitcases. Premium Cabins overlooking Monument Valley Our private, fully-furnished valley rim cabins offer a unique way to experience Monument Valley. The cabin had ample room for the 2 of us & apart from making coffee we did not require any other facilities for eating etc. Each room has the most amazing view, especially and Sunset and Sunrise. We first drove up to the Valley, and saw all the mittens etc, and thought wow, they let everyone have their houses in this amazing landscape.

The "Valley Rim Premium View" cabins sit in front of and slightly below the Valley Rim cabins and offer a completely unobstructed view. It had a definite South West flavour to all the food.We stayed just one night here.

But, if I were to do it all over again, I wouldn't. WIFI was functional, but not a lot of bandwidth. there is not an overhang and your are a ways from the lobby and light. I booked a Valley Rim Premium View" cabin which was only about $10.00 more than a "Valley Rim" cabin. We were on the 3rd (top) floor.
There are two rows of cabins. -Valley Rim cabin $199+Tax, -Valley Rim Premium view $209+Tax, -Executive valley rim cabin $239+Tax and -Executive valley rim premium view …

We enjoyed the entire stay. I'm sure other people have had better stays, but you can get all the experience of the view by just driving in and doing a tour. This is the version of our website addressed to speakers of This review is the subjective opinion of a TripAdvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.Review tags are currently only available for English language reviews. This review is the subjective opinion of a TripAdvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.This review is the subjective opinion of a TripAdvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.This review is the subjective opinion of a TripAdvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.This review is the subjective opinion of a TripAdvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.This review is the subjective opinion of a TripAdvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.We (2 adults 2 children) stayed in a valley rim cabin for 2 nights.
We would strongly recommend the hotel to anyone who plans to visit Monument Valley.Stayed at the View Hotel Rim Cabins on days 4 & 5 of our 2 weeks holiday in May. The restaurant was just okay, but given that it was dry (Indian Reservation) and in the middle of nowhere, it was fine. Worked fine for e-mail.

This is reason enough to stay at least 1 night here! The en-suite facilities were more than adequate for our needs. I would stay the 25 miles outside Monument Valley and drive in to do the photos and tour. We stayed on the top level but every level would be great. The room was big and the beds comfy. The bathroom was also large and clean.
