It said pretty much everything that should be said about A J Fikry and Gabrielle Zevin's writing. A book that sweeps you up. I would have loved a bit of a look into the adoption rather than just rushing through it. As someone currently going through the adoption process, no, it doesn't take under a year. [Maya, who has unrealistically precocious speech and creative writing [So then A.J. Only adding to how this felt like a gimmick to me, not an exploration of a deep topic.
